It is World Health Day today...

It is a day to mark the founding of the World Health Organization and also remind us the importance of our health as opposed to material and political gains.

This year's World Health Day's theme is the need to protect health from the adverse effects of climate change. Climate change may seem unimportant but it is posing a threat to our health whether we know it or not.

So, it is my fervent hope for this World Health Day that:

1. The government will stop illegal logging and clearing of forests

2. The government will set aside more green lung, not only within the cities, but also in towns and resort islands.

3. Recycling and caring for the environment be taken seriously instead of being pushed aside as something 'optional'.

4. Our health be placed as the top most priority instead of this unending race to the top for more material gains.

5. The government comes up with a policy to reduce cutting down hills and forests for so-called development

6. Protecting the environment is everyone's duty as we all live in the same ship called Earth and if it sinks, we all go with it.

7. More people extend their help to those who needed it

8. Less wastage, less extravagances and more chances for a better life especially for the hardcore poor.

So, have a great World Health Day and may you be healthier than ever!
