So, have you submitted your income tax form? The deadline is the end of this month so you have about three more weeks to submit your BE Form. For those with B Forms, you have until June 30.

Instead of filling in the literal BE Form and sending it to IRB, you can do it online in the comfort of your own home. No need for long queues and the hassle of going to the IRB office to hand in your forms.

It is convenient, fast and easy. No hassle, no parking problems and no headache. Right?

Yeah right. Last year, I had a load of problems because their server crashed, the stupid digital signature software thingy was not compatible with Windows Vista and in the end I had to go to the IRB office to do e-filing there.

Kinda defeats the purpose, don't you think?

Anyway, they have said that all these initial bugs have been fixed so it should go smoothly this time. We shall see huh?

So, for those who had to struggle year in year out to fill in their BE Forms, well, MIA (that's for Malaysian Institute of Accountants... not Missing in Action..) and IRB is organising a Taxpayers' Awareness Day at MIA this Friday.

The IRB and MIA fellas will be around to provide advice and assistance on filing your BE Forms from 9am to 5pm. You can even get them to help you file in your BE form on the spot.
